Short Recipe: Traditional Chana Dal Curry
Ingredients:

1 cup Chana Dal
2 cups water
1 onion (chopped)
2 tomatoes (chopped)
1 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 green chilies (slit)
1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
1 tsp red chili powder
Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Salt to taste
2 tbsp oil or ghee
Instructions:

Rinse Chana Dal thoroughly and soak for 30 minutes.
Pressure cook the dal with water and turmeric until soft (about 2–3 whistles).
Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, and let them splutter.
Add onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté until golden.
Stir in tomatoes, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes soften.
Add the cooked Chana Dal and simmer for 5–7 minutes. Adjust consistency with water if needed.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or flatbreads.
